A way with words
"As our first Communications Manager, Rhian was central to the planning of our 10th anniversary celebrations, which brought greatly increased media coverage to the charity, and culminated in the highly successful launch of a £12 million appeal for a new hospice for young people."
Ray Kipling, Chief Executive, Naomi House Children's Hospice,
Winchester, Hants, UK.
I am a freelance public relations (PR) consultant and former journalist based in Andover, Hants. I gained my National Certificate in Newspaper Journalism whilst working for the Andover Advertiser and am also a member of the UK's Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR). I have worked on numerous press launches and public relations campaigns for businesses and charities across Hampshire, the UK and beyond.
My PR and copywriting experience includes helping to launch the CORGI gas safety ID card and various marketing campaigns for financial services company, Winterthur Life based in Basingstoke. I also worked for national mapmaker, Ordnance Survey in Southampton, first in its press office and later as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives Manager. More recently I was the first ever Communications Manager for well-known Hampshire charity, Naomi House Children's Hospice where I led the 10th anniversary public relations campaign.
Since becoming a freelance public relations consultant and copywriter, my clients have included the award-winning PR team at Testway Housing in Andover, the Commission for Rural Communities (CRC); EuroGeographics - the umbrella association and official voice for the European National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies - and Nineteen33 Recording Studios in Basingstoke.
